In honor of Black History Month, the archdioceses Black Catholic Initiative held an essay contest for students in Catholic schools with the topic Why would Father Tolton view a Catholic education as valuable? Chicago City Treasurer Kurt Summers is proud to announce the 2018 Black History Month Essay Contest. The 11th annual scholarship contest, sponsored by the Treasurers Office, is open to all CPS seniors that have at District competitions.
From timetotime, CPS sponsors districtwide events designed to engage the minds of young adults, while also giving them opportunities to earn scholarship money for college as well as prizes.

The contest, which will run until Friday, February 2nd, will be judged by a panel including Timberwolves Guard Jamal Crawford and Lynx Forward Rebekkah Brunson.
